Two of the things that gave me shall highs today: First, I won the Solo contest! I can’t delve into the whole thing right now. But I will soon. Hihi. For the meantime, please check out their website and facebook page and my page for pictures, crazy behind the scenes, and interviews.
Second. That morning, I got semi-paid for my wedding video gig. So I went to the mall, and planned to splurge for my Bora trip or the dresses on sale there. I ended up hauling at Book Sale.

I actually bought the other two books already when I saw this on the display window near the cashier. I died. I’ve always wanted a coffee table / handbook for film and there it was screaming at me. It says The Book of Movie Photography, but it has everything about film – the basics, history, making the film, compositions, sound, editing, and even the projection of the movie. It has EVERYTHING! I died yet again. I love that it’s so step-by-step. It has illustrations and stuff. But what really sold me to it was the cool special effects it teaches like how to make explosions, and artificial weather. Plus, it has a whole article dedicated to filming weddings. So yay! I got really giddy and instantly grabbed it. It’s only 275 Pesos.

I’ve always been fascinated how the mind works and how we relate to other people and people in general. Thus this book. I found it in the wee corner, all alone. I opened the little critter and lo and behold, geeky words and figures were introducing themselves to me. I instantly knew that this book was the brain juice I needed. How can I not take it home with me when it’s only as dirt-cheap as 30 bucks?
I came home and read a few paragraphs. It was a pleasurable nose bleeding moment.

Finally, Dr. King’s Refrigerator. It seems like a promising book. What I like about it is that it’s a collection of short stories, that I can quickly read and take me to bed and slumber.
Let’s see how it delivers. I’m hoping to be inspired somehow.
How about you what’s your latest book buy?
